It is located west of Louisville, Nebraska, and midway between Omaha and Lincoln. The park has a relatively steep, rolling topography compared to the surrounding region. Combined from several different areas, the park consists of and most of it is forested. Mahoney State Park, the Strategic Air and Space Museum, the Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari, and several golf courses. ==Recreation== The park has a swimming pool and tennis courts, as well as of hiking trails. Guided trail rides are available daily during the summer. A small () lake provides fishing opportunities for people 15 years old and under, and visitors can also rent paddleboats; however, private boats are not permitted on the lake. A small restaurant is open during the summer and there is also a rentable year-round facility which can accommodate up to 150 people. The park has a visitor center with several exhibits, and a free family friendly movie is provided at an outdoor amphitheater on Saturdays during the summer. An arts and crafts center has experts that teach basic leatherwork and ceramics. 135 picnic tables and over 80 grills are scattered throughout the park.
